About Sixteens Consultancy Services

A structural engineering consultancy built on the belief that engineering rigour, multi-codebook fluency, and direct senior-level accountability are non-negotiable in every project — regardless of jurisdiction or structure type.

Founded in Calicut, 2014

Sixteens Consultancy Services was founded in 2014 by Mubashir, a structural engineer whose vision from the outset was to build a consultancy capable of serving international clients to the highest technical standard — not as a large firm with layers of delegation, but as a focused practice where senior engineering judgement is applied directly to every project.

The consultancy is headquartered at Office no. 13, 2nd Floor, Landmark Meritus Commercial Building, Thiruvannur, Calicut, Kerala 673029 — in the heart of one of South India's most commercially active cities. Calicut's deep connection to international trade, its skilled professional workforce, and its time-zone alignment with the Gulf region made it a natural base for a consultancy with international ambitions.

What "Sixteens" Means

The name references the precision inherent in structural engineering — sixteenths of an inch, the unit of precision to which fabricated steel members are held in North American fabrication standards, and a metaphor for the level of attention to detail that defines our work. Engineering at the level of sixteenths: nothing rounded, nothing approximated, nothing left to assumption.

Fourteen Countries Served

Since 2014, Sixteens Consultancy Services has delivered structural engineering commissions across fourteen countries spanning four continents. Our project map includes:

  • South Asia — India (home market), Bangladesh
  • Middle East — Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, and neighbouring Gulf states
  • North America — Canada (Ontario), United States (Florida and other states)
  • East Asia — Japan
  • Europe / Mediterranean — Türkiye, and projects referencing Eurocode in European-standard jurisdictions

This geographic breadth is not coincidental — it is the result of deliberate investment in multi-codebook technical capability. An engineer who knows only one code system is limited to one market. An engineer who has designed to ASCE-7, SBC, NBC 2020, JIS, and Eurocode — and has project proof of each — can serve clients wherever they build.

Our Founder: Mubashir

Mubashir is the Founder and Senior Structural Engineer of Sixteens Consultancy Services. He leads every engagement personally — from initial scope discussion through final drawing sign-off. There is no delegation to junior staff on Sixteens projects; when a client engages us, they engage the senior engineer directly.

Mubashir's technical fluency spans the full breadth of structural systems and international codes that our project portfolio demonstrates: steel tower design, seismic detailing, PEB systems, foundation engineering, connection design, and the capacity assessment of existing structures. His software proficiency includes STAAD.Pro for complex 3D steel analysis, ETABS for seismic building analysis, and SAP2000 for general finite element applications, alongside Autodesk Revit for BIM detailing and AutoCAD for 2D documentation.

When an existing structure is unsafe, we say so clearly. The client's confidence in our assessments depends on knowing that our findings are honest.

What We Deliver

Every Sixteens engagement produces a complete, peer-review-ready documentation package: structural design calculations with explicit code citations, structural drawings suitable for fabrication coordination, connection design, foundation design, and a design report formatted for the applicable authority's review process. Our clients receive deliverables that can be submitted directly to building departments or engineering review bodies without requiring additional interpretation or documentation work on their part.

Senior engineer on every project, without exception. Mubashir reviews, leads, and signs off every calculation and drawing that leaves this office. There is no Sixteens project where the senior engineer is not directly involved.
